Tallahassee
Tallahassee is a city in Leon County. Nearer to Atlanta than Miami, Tallahassee is considered "The Other Florida" in attitude, topography, climate and lifestyle
Tallahassee is a genteel Southern belle with good manners, rolling hills, oak-canopied roads, old plantation homes, and y’all-come hospitality. It also happens to be home to Florida State University, Florida A&M University and Florida’s state capital. How the latter came about is told in a popular folk tale. When East and West Florida territories combined into one state, travelers were sent from the former capitals of St. Augustine and Pensacola. The backwoods spot where they met became the new political center. http://www.visitflorida.com/destinations/area.php/ca=74
Tallahassee's promotional motto, "Florida with a Southern Accent," was probably written by a copywriter, but it surely contains a large kernel of truth.

In conclusion, if the idea of Southern living style sounds good, Tallahassee may be just the place. If you like weather changes, the area also has appeal compared to the normal florida sub-tropical climates.
Add in the fact that you’re just an hours drive from the Gulf and all that water has to offer, the Talahassee area begins to look very attractive.
